Construction of the Kingston Secondary School (KSS) site is now complete. Work on the 171,000-square-foot facility began in 2017 following the demolition of the former Queen Elizabeth Collegiate & Vocational Institute (QECVI) at 145 Kirkpatrick St., Kingston. Construction was delayed in April 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The mandatory work stoppage meant the school site was not be ready to open to students in September 2020. Construction was completed by general contractor Corebuild Construction in late November and students moved in to the new building on December 15, 2020.
