While we faced a few challenges along the way, we also experienced tremendous growth, learning, and success together.We are incredibly proud of our Simcoe Stars. Academic achievement continues to soar, with reading and math data showing strong and steady growth. Our classrooms have been filled with engaging learning opportunities, our athletics and extracurricular programs have flourished, and students have enjoyed countless field trips, hands-on experiences, and memorable school events throughout the year.We are looking forward to celebrating together at our Talent Show on Monday, our Kindergarten Year-End Celebration on Wednesday, and our Grade 8 Graduation on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.Thank you for your partnership, support, and school spirit throughout the year. About Our School

Welcome to J. G. Simcoe Public School, a Kindergarten to Grade 8 school located in Kingston’s north end. Our school opened in 1969 and was named after John Graves Simcoe who was the first Lieutenant Governor of Upper Canada from 1791 to 1796. We are a small school with approximately 200 students and have a very active and supportive School Council. Our school climate is reflective of the Limestone District School Board pillars: Wellness, Collaboration and Innovation. We are committed to supporting our Simcoe Stars, both academically and socially, to achieve at high levels. Our staff offer students a variety of enriching extra-curricular opportunities, such as rugby, baseball, gardening, art club, photography club, comics club, volleyball, basketball, running, track and field. Our school song exemplifies our belief in all students and the importance of never giving up and being who you are!

The Limestone District School Board is seeking community members with strong financial expertise and business acumen to serve as external members of its Audit Committee for a three‑year term beginning September 2026.The Audit Committee consists of three Trustees and two independent community members. Its mandate is to assist the Board of Trustees in fulfilling its governance and oversight responsibilities. On average, more than 14,000 meals and snacks were served each week, over 530,000 throughout the year, with weekly food orders reaching approximately $17,500.We are grateful to the dedicated staff who make these programs possible, and to The Food Sharing Project for continuing to support student well-being across LDSB. This support is increasingly important as many families continue to face food insecurity.
