We are so grateful for each and every one of you.Despite a difficult week, it was wonderful to see so many students smiling, connecting with peers, and enjoying opportunities like the football and soccer tournaments and the Grade 4 Indigenous Trip. Our thoughts continue to be with Kamsi’s family and friends during this very difficult time. Her loss is felt deeply across the school community, and we extend our heartfelt sympathies to all who knew and cared for her. During times of loss, it is normal for students and adults alike to experience a wide range of feelings, including sadness, worry, or confusion. Some may need extra reassurance, a chance to talk, or simply time and space to process. School-based supports are available, and help is accessible through community resources. We encourage families to check in with their students, offer opportunities to talk if needed, and reach out for support whenever necessary.  Ways to support your student: <ul class="editor-list-ul"><li value="1" class="editor-listitem">Maintain normal routines as much as possible. </li><li value="2" class="editor-listitem">Ask questions to determine their understanding of the event and emotional state.  </li><li value="3" class="editor-listitem">Give them permission to grieve. Avoid reducing the loss.  </li><li value="4" class="editor-listitem">Provide age and developmentally appropriate answers/support.  </li><li value="5" class="editor-listitem">Connect them with professionals and other trusted adults. </li><li value="6" class="editor-listitem">Help them adopt healthy coping strategies. </li></ul>Difficult events can affect adults as well as students. This is different from the Running and Reading Program that is hosted at the school after hours. We are sharing this information so families can be informed, particularly those who may be pregnant or have health conditions that could make exposure more concerning. <h2 class="editor-heading-h2">Technical Advisory Group (TAG) is Seeking Expression of Interest</h2>The Limestone District School Board is seeking expressions of interest from <a href="about:blank" class="editor-link">individuals</a><a href="#_msocom_1" class="editor-link">[EL1]</a>  interested in joining the Technical Advisory Group (TAG) in support of the ongoing Student Census 2025 project.The purpose of the Technical Advisory Group is to provide advice, perspectives, and recommendations related to the design of data collection methods, analysis, and the representation of results for LDSB’s Student Census. TAG plays a critical role in ensuring that multiple and diverse perspectives are applied to the interpretation of data, helping to minimize bias and strengthen the relevance and integrity of findings.We are seeking expressions of interest for the committee for the September 2026 to August 2028 term.  We welcome expressions of interest from all members of the Limestone community, including those who can help us fill the following vacancies:<ul class="editor-list-ul"><li value="1" class="editor-listitem">One to two parents of a Limestone student(s) who is not an employee of the LDSB</li><li value="2" class="editor-listitem">A Limestone school administrator</li><li value="3" class="editor-listitem">One or more Limestone secondary students</li><li value="4" class="editor-listitem">One community partner member who works alongside LDSB</li></ul>Experience in data collection, analysis, and/or reporting of identity‑based data is encouraged; however, individuals with a broad range of research or analysis backgrounds and/or lived experiences are encouraged to apply.
